Amish furniture is not a particular style, or brand. The Amish people live a simple, family oriented, lifestyle grounded in their faith. True Amish furniture is made by family workshops in Amish communities.

Is Amish furniture better?

Most Amish furniture is made using age old techniques that have past the test of time. Individuals that grow up in Amish families learn at a young age the value of hard work, and of a job done well. This work ethic is reflected in the quality of the furniture they produce.

All the fabrics offered by Smith Brothers of Berne, and by Country View Woodworking are rub tested for durability, and only top grain leathers are used.

Do we take special orders?

We stock the items we display for immediate availability, and we also special order to suit the individual fabric, wood, hardware style, or stain needs of our customers. Country View Woodworking also works with us to provide custom built items.

Is Amish furniture easy to care for and maintain?

All of our solid hardwood Amish furniture is finished in a catalyzed conversion varnish that is hard, and highly stain resistant. There is no special care required, but use of a quality wax-free polish on occasion is suggested. We recommend Guardsman or Woodwright polishes.
